Throughout the module you will learn to demonstrate an awareness of the need for a high level of professional and ethical conduct in engineering, recognising obligations to society, the profession and the environment. The work will also be informed by current issues and leading edge practice, such as artificial intelligence and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

The eLearning modules cover the following topics:

  • Sources of hazards and risk
  • Qualitative and quantitative risk and safety assessment techniques including ALARP, AFARP, HAZOP, Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis, and Failure Mode Event Analysis
  • Probabilistic Risk Assessment
  • Consequential risk
  • Project risk management
  • Lessons learnt from construction and operational failures
  • International standards for health, safety, and welfare
  • Defining and assessing safe systems of work including method statements
  • Responsibilities to project team and public of employers, clients, designers, contractors, and operators

Duration

The eLearning license is valid for 12 months from the time of purchase.
