Description
This two day course delivers a comprehensive and detailed workshop on the use and application of Eurocode 2 for the design of concrete building structures. Making extensive use of tutorials to reinforce the learning points, it considers all the key aspects of reinforced concrete design including flexure, shear, deflection, columns, detailing, and spread foundations.

Eurocode 2 is the standard for the design of concrete structures. It is a robust and rigorous design code and but takes a less prescriptive approach than its predecessor. As such, it offers flexibility and opportunity in design but requires clear understanding and careful application.

For each aspect, Eurocode design concepts are explained and discussed in detail including departure from existing practice (BS 8110). The learning is reinforced through extensive worked examples and tutorials.  Key emphasis is placed on practical design, developing capability and familiarity with Eurocode 2; this workshop style learning will benefit those seeking extended practical guidance on the application of Eurocode 2 and clear advice and opinion from a key Eurocode expert.

Formats

Classroom

Training courses on set dates, in ICE Training venues across the country. Suitable for those looking to attend a training course and share knowledge and practical experiences with like-minded others in an interactive learning environment.

Bespoke training programmes. These are delivered by our tutors at a time, in a location and based on a curriculum completely tailored to your needs. Bob is a senior project engineer working on the design of building and civil engineering structures in a public sector Highways and Transportation Department. He is responsible for the day to day management of a wide range of projects, and in recent years, has specialised in projects which involve a high level of technical complexity. He regularly works with other consultants and contractors. He also works as a part-time lecturer, teaching whole units on HND/Degree courses, teaching on professional examination, preparation courses and as a contributor to seminars on structural design.
